Do you Really Need a Mobile Notary?
Probably not. Most papers can be notarized very easily at a bank. Mobile notaries specialize in loan documents which can mean up to 100-200 pages.
While having a mobile Notary come to your home or place of business is certainly convienent, it is not always a necessary expense.
Most people do not need a mobile notary, in fact, most papers can be properly notarized at a local bank, copy shop or mailbox facility. Often these places have a notary, but they may have limited hours and not available when you need them. Save yourself a trip and call before to check days, hours and fees.
If you feel that you need a mobile notary please understand that while a notaries stamp and signature is priced at $5.00 per document as mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia this does not include travel and time expenses.
Most mobile notaries have a flat fee within ten miles of their offices. These fees can be as low as $25 and go as high as $50 (much higher outside of a ten mile radius). So you really need to ask yourself if you truly need a 'Mobile' Notary.
